Egg Tarts

I was pretty bored last Saturday as darling was out station to work and as usual, having nothing to do, for da very first time in my life, i baked Egg Tarts!'s not hard at all but a little bit time consuming..try it out if you have time and below is da recipe for Egg Tarts:-

  • 175g Butter
  • 100g Sugar
  • 350g Plain Flour (sifted)
  • 1 Egg

  • 200ml Golden Syrup
  • 200ml Fresh Milk
  • 200ml Water
  • 6 Eggs
  • 4 Egg Yolks
  • 2 tsp Honey

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degC
  2. Pastry: Place sugar, egg and butter in mixer and beat until sugar dissolved. Add sifted plain flour and mix until dough holds together. Divide dough into small portions and press dough evenly onto moulds. Bake at 180 degC for about 8 minutes then remove and let cool
  3. Custard: Lightly beat eggs and egg yolks. Combine egg mixture with golden syrup, water, milk and honey. Mix well and strain. Pour into half-baked pastry shells and bake at 170 degC until custard is set. To avoid burning custard, release some heat by very briefly open da oven door halfway during baking
