Nutri Pot Restaurant @ Ss2

When I think of last Saturday afternoon, it was such a disaster! I was about to step out from home, going out for lunch and da next minute, it started to rain cats & dogs. Trust me, it wasn't da usual rains as there were strong winds and I saw some of da big signboards flew off!!!!! Boy oh boy, so scary!!!!! Though da weather was freaking unpredictable, darling and I just couldn't stand da feeling of having an empty stomach and we just drove out to look for food. Yeah, pretty hungry cause it was already 2pm and no food in our tummy! How can????? This time, we decided to have lunch at Nutri Pot Restaurant which's located in SS2, Petaling Jaya (few doors away from da famous Teow Cheow Porridge and also Tea Pot Cafe).

Da history of Nutri Pot

O_o Pretty empty inside, there were only few diners and according to da owner of this Restaurant, it has been 2 months now since they opened and she mentioned to us that business hasn't been good. Poor thing.....

Before going any further, let me briefly explain da signature dish at Nutri Pot. For a start, you will be asked to choose Braised Meat of your choice where you can have Fish, Beef, Mutton, Chicken and etc. With their in-house special sauce which's made of 10+ combination of Herbs and Spices together with their chosen fresh Vegetables like Celery, Carrot, Sweet Potato, Potato, Tomato, Red/Green Bell Pepper, Onion, Garlic, Froctus Lycii and etc., it will then be combined and once da ingredients ready, they will bring it over and cook right infront da diners! Apparently, I find this signature dish rather special and so far, I've never try anything like that before here in PJ/KL.

As a first timer, we were not too sure which meat to go for hence we decided to ask da owner to recommend us. Da owner somehow recommended us Braised Fish which's priced at RM 28.00 per portion for 2 persons and RM 38.00 per portion for 3-4 persons. By looking at this picture, you will see that all da ingredients were very well marinated and separated. Ready to be cooked!

Firstly, da Staff poured this 'special paste' into da pot which I've got no idea what's that. It looked like Butter to me but I can tell you that it wasn't Butter.....

Once da 'special paste' melted, da staff then poured all da fresh and uncooked Vegetables into da pot. If not mistaken, da Vegetables were steamed for like less than 1 minute...

Next, da marinated Fish were placed one by one on top of da steamed Vegetables.....

Wow, such a big big portion! Time for da Fish to be cooked! ;)

Okay, that was fast! We waited for like 5 minutes and da Fish were all cooked! Now, da most amazing part, da Vegetables turned out to be so yummy! It was fresh, crunchy and soft while da Fish meat so tender and tasty! I seriously can't believe that da Carrots and Potatoes can actually be steamed/coooked in less than 5 minutes to get that kind of texture! I am not too sure how I can explain here but I am sure that once you try it, you will know what I am trying to say here.....

We also ordered a small plate of plain "La Mien" Noodle to eat with da Braised Fish. Priced at RM 1.50 per plate, it was a tasteless "La Mien" but it tasted all good when you have it together with da Braised Fish. Trust me, it was very appetizing!

Besides that, we also had a plate of Steamed "Sawi". Priced at RM 5 per plate, da Vegetables were crunchy and nicely steamed. Loved it!

We end our meal with their signature Health Tea. Priced at RM 6 per pot, we chose da one with da effect of reducing fats :p Whoaaa... this Tea really tasted very different as compare to other normal Teas. Quite aromatic though and I kinda like it too! :D

After we finished our lunch, da owner (lady boss) came to our table and talked to us. Of course, her intention was to obtain feedback from us and she was kinda worry as she told us that her business isn't doing well at all. Well, I seriously don't know why not many diners make a stop at her Restaurant but frankly speaking, da dishes that we had were pretty special, good and yummy! I guess she just need to be patience. I don't see anything wrong with her food, perhaps it's still new in that area. Oh, I must thank da owner as she was really kind to us that she didn't charge us for that plate of "Sawi" upon giving feedback to her ;)

I pass by the shop that day and honestly i wasnt impressed with the signage at all, the graphics inside the shop seems nice, the owner should incoporate it to the signage. First impression does matter. ;)

But after reading your post, i changed my mind. i might go check it out one day. Seems interesting and very healthy!

honeystar, you are so right bout da 'first impression' thingy.. you know what? i wanted to leave when i saw da pot from outside thinking that they serves Steamboat instead.. anyways, my bf tried to convince me to go inside and he said that if is really a sTeamboat rest then only we leave... once seated, we looked through da menu and found out that it's not a steamboat rest. only then we decided to give it a try.... we did informed da owner bout da 'impression' thingy.. hopefully she will do something bout it ;)

I often see this place too when we drive pass SS2 from the main road and yeah, business is not good. Guess people in SS2 prefer the chan tengs as those are packed.

Another place which looks interesting is Tian Yian Cafe near the goldsmith shops - suspect it's a vegetarian place but yet to explore further.
