Hoe Kee Chicken Rice @ Malacca

I was at Malacca yesterday for a business meeting and for your information, I do travel to Malacca quite often cause dad is a Malaccan and for some other reason, it got to be for business purposes. Whenever we have da chance to drop by around da town area, we will definitely hunt for some good and yummy food. We've got no problems finding da perfect place for a meal cause dad is very familiar with da roads at Malacca. This time around for lunch, dad brought me to Hoe Kee Chicken Rice for its famous Steamed Chicken and da Chicken Rice Ball instead of our regular place, Chung Hwa Restaurant.

To be honest, I prefer Hoe Kee than Chung Hwa mostly because of its environment and ambience. I absolutely like da renovation at this place, a very welcoming eatery!

Look at how perfectly they've rolled these Rice Balls, so good looking and very yummy too! I must say that they are definitely much better than da one at Chung Hwa :)

Da Steamed Chicken was good, smoothy! I find da Chicken meat so tender, fresh and lean which's definitely towards my liking :)

We also had "Assam" Fish and if I am not mistaken, it was a "Siakap" fish that we had. Dad absolutely enjoy every bite of it and da gravy was so delicious that we licked da whole plate clean! :p

Sorry for this darky picture and if you are not aware, this's actually a Black Bean Soup. Dad said that this's very good for health especially to replenish our blood. Tasted quite plain but I like it! :D

It was one hearty and enjoyable meal we had. Da above food costed us RM 40+ and must say that it's quite worthy :) So, if you are somewhere at Malacca, do drop by this place! :D

i luv the chicky rice balls from Hoe Kee n' they taste bttr than the red-building's one which is more commercialised. Apparently the 70++ yr old nanny (the wife of the founder of chicky rice balls/ the mum of the cook) is still acting as the food quality controller @ Hoe Kee.

j, oh yeah for sure! malacca is a good heaven for me... :D

tekko, true enough that there's nothing to shout about over da steamed chicken and assam fish as you can easily get it over here at kl but with da rice ball along, it's definitely one good combination :)

xiulongbao, da red building? i think it's called da Famosa Chicken Rice Rest right? they've got ducky rice ball there but never try before though as that place is always empty :p
