New Year's Eve Dinner @ Sri Thai Restaurant, PJ

We had our year end dinner at Sri Thai Restaurant which's located right opposite PJ Hilton. This restaurant has been my parents' favourite place ever since I was a kid and surprisingly da "Captain" of this Restaurant; a lady, still around to manage her crew for decades now! I remember that there were uncountable birthday celebrations, anniversary celebrations and parents' day celebration that we had at this place. Well, more like a small family gathering for us and I believe that this's probably one of da most prominent Thai Restaurant that still attracts a large crowd, be it weekdays or weekends.

Supa dim lightings inside da Restaurant with nice Chinese Oldies Music playing in da background, definitely my parents' favourite! I find this place pretty romantic too but I think not many youngsters would make a stop at this place as da crowds seem to be regular diners as in a place for da elderly to gather and have meals.

One Happy Family Potrait to end year 2006 :D

Another one Happy Family Potrait, this time with my other half in da picture ;)

Make a guess what dish is this...

Mixed Seafood Tom Yam Gung! Priced at RM 38 for 5 pax, we had 2 bowls each person and it tasted so good! Da soup was so aromatic and da smell of Lemon Grass was so strong! Absolutely lovely as da spicyness of this soup just at da right level for our tastebuds :D

For appetizer, we had da Jellyfish Kerabu. Priced at RM 12, this sweet and spicy salad definitely has my vote! It was served cold over da Lettuce with some Lime juice and da texture of Jellyfish was rather soft, yummy!

Dad wanted a Beancurd dish so we ordered da Siamese Claypot Beancurd. Priced at RM 12, it was cooked in a Thai style and I find it nothing special to shout over this dish. Pretty normal but tasted good.

For vege, we had da Stir-Fried Asparagus "Belachan". Priced at RM 14, this dish is one of da many specialties in this Restaurant that my parents will never miss to order it each time we dines in. Delicious and crunchy! :D

Next rave was da Siamese Steamed Fish. Priced at RM 45, we went for da Siakap Fish and da Fish was so fresh! I've always enjoy eating Siamease Steamed Fish as it tasted a little bit tangy, sour and spicy which's definitely towards my liking. Da attached gravy/soup was so flavourful and yummy that we finished off everything in just a nick of time :D

Last dish of da night, we had da "Sambal" Prawns with Petai. Priced at RM 16, I find this dish pretty good. Some people find Petai rather stinky, makes da bodily secretion and breath smell bad but da fact is, they are really good for health. So, do eat more! :D

Burrrrppp.... we had da best time dining in this Restaurant, good food at a decent price. One fine day if you are around this area and craving for some good Thai food, do drop by this place as you will never regret :)
