This's definitely one long overdue post that I almost forget to review!! I remember that me and my other half were somewhere around in KLCC a month before Chinese New Year and that he was craving for Japanese food. Second thought was to dine out from KLCC so we drove down to da next road, Jalan Yap Kwan Seng where Munakata Japanese Restaurant is located. For your information, Munakata is operating its business in a huge bungalow with three different sections, a Noodle Bar, Fine Japanese Cuisine (da one we went to) and a Japanese Karaoke Lounge. Sounds cool right? :p
I find its Green Tea very much different from others which has got a very uplifting scent and aromatic! So far, da best Green Tea I ever tasted!
We started with Tokusen Sashimi Moriawase. Priced at RM 80 per plate, it's a cold dish which has various kinds of sashimi like Salmon, Tuna, Shrimp, Octopus and Mackerel. I thought da one I had before at Rakuzen was da best but little did I know that this one actually tastes much better in terms of freshness and serving was huge that it could actually feed up 3-4 persons! One word, awesome!
Next, we had da Tempura Moriawase which's priced at RM 30. This classic Japanese deep-fried batter-dipped Shrimp, Shiitake mushroom, Sweet potato, Yam, Eggplant and Carrot were perfectly crunch, light, crisp, succulent and hardly greasy at all! Trust me, you could hardly get a good Tempura these days even in a fine Japanese Restaurant but this's definitely one exceptional case.
I like Fish alot to da extend that some people says that I am just like a Bear and that's why Grilled Fish is usually a must-order item whenever we dines in a Japanese Restaurant. I believe that Mackarel is a good fish to be grilled especially when it's lightly seasoned with Sea Salts hence that night, we opt for Mackarel Fish and that it's priced at RM 20 for a fillet. I must say that it's very much comparable with da one I had at Rakuzen before, yummy!
Next rave was da Chicken Teppanyaki. If you've been following my blog, you surely know that we hardly order Teppanyaki and not too sure why that night, we made da first move and tried it out for da very first time in a fine Japanese Restaurant. I kid you not, it was definitely one good decision to order this as it tasted sooooooooooooooooo good and with da price of RM 30 per plate, I assumed that it's worthy! Da meat was so tender and with da fried Garlic as companion, it was absolutely a perfect match! :D
Finally, da dinner was end with Buckwheat Noodles. Priced at RM 25, it was served in a huge bowl where da Buckwheat Noodles were topped with Seafood and Vegetables in a very Cold Sauce! If you are a "Noodle-person", I recommend you to order this cause it was supa yummy that I am still craving for it now! Then again, please note that if it's advisable to order this if you have at least 2-3 persons dining together cause it's one big serving!
