Assam Laksa @ O & S Restaurant, Paramount Garden

Feel really sleepy right now... *yawns*

Watched da repeat of Canadian Grand Prix yesterday night till 1230am and well, that was a superbly dramatic race! Then, there were so many safety car periods that caused chaos to it and thank god that Kubica is out of danger and in a stable condition now, he had a really, really bad crash! Poor thing...

I remember that I'd earlier reviewed da famous Prawn Noodle , "Yong Tau Fu" and da assorted "Kuih-muih" at O & S Restaurant, Paramount Garden and as for now, I would like to take you to another round of a good Assam Laksa (RM 4) that I discovered over here, in this Restaurant :) I remember that when I first tried its Assam Laksa (different owner back then) many years ago, it was quite awful and that I never really tempt to give them a second chance till one fine day (months ago) when my other half tried it over, only then we found out that they've a different owner now!

Must admit that I heart this bowl of Assam Laksa very much. Da aroma of this thick sour soup is so overpowering that I fell in love with it da moment I had a sip over it :D Big serving with big chunks of Fish in it, you really got to try it if you heart Assam Laksa as I believe that you gonna love this very much! :D

Yeah, I tried to stay up for the Canadian Grand Prix but I was tired, I fell asleep.

How does it taste compared to Penang laksa jiek? Long time I never eat laksa cos I like thick-ish soup with lots of "liew" and I almost never find it here around KL.

Hi MeiYen,

I have been following your blog for the past few months. Didn't know that you are a F1 fan. My hubby too. My sons are name after F1 driver, Mika and Kimi. You really makes me 'lau hau sui' with all the food picture. Wish I'm still living in M'sia.

This Assam Laksa looks a little bit yellow, probably the use of a tad too much turmeric. Anyway, yellow or not, I will sapu and jilat this dry if I have one in front of me now. :(

Not abnormal, just a gem to find a girl who has all those traits. ;-)

So far i've asked about 10 ppl. Most hav responded, so should be about there. Anything that u would like to sink ur teeth into will be fine with us. And based on ur blog, ur food choices are pretty good. Trust ur judgment. :)

SypruxWindchaser said...

I've been eating the O&S assam laksa for at least 15 years now... maybe 20. Owners didn't change throughout this time. The ladies in my family especially like it though the Petaling Street one is even better (if you disregard the poor environment).

have u tried the Laksa Shack's Assam Laksa? how does the shack's fare compared to the O&S? i used to frequent sunway pyramid's Laksa Shack each friday. just mental abt their assam laksa... but back home in the north, had a bowl of laksa shack but i fell sick thereafter. i think the souring agent they used was not natural, but that of chemical...
