Chinese Set Menu @ Ivy & Eddie's Wedding Dinner

Continue from my previous post, here's da Chinese set menu that we had on their wedding's night...

Started with Special Lagoon Four Hot & Cold Seasons, loved da Baby Octopus, yummy! :D

2nd dish was da Braised Eight Treasure Sharks Fin Soup, thick and lotsa "treasures" in da soup, not bad! :D

When da Fish came, I was rather happy cause I love to eat Fish but somehow it was a Steamed Patin Fish that they served and sad to say, I don't like da texture of this Fish :(

Bbq Pi Pa Duck was da next dish. Tastes okay but we thought they must have had re-warm da ducky cause da meat turned up to be quite soggy and not tender. I overheard Poh and Kiat mentioned that da best ducky so far they've tried doesn't come from Hong Kong but in UK... O_o

I loved this Stewed Loh Hon Chai with Bean Roots and Garden Greens. Served piping hot, it was delicious :D

Instead of Rice/Noodles, we were served a plate of Buddhist Vegetables in Yam Ring. Find it quite okay though but of course to those who expected some carbs seemed to be disappointed :|

As for Dessert, we were served Chilled Mixed Fruits Cream with Ice Cream and Sago... looks gross but it tastes okay ;)

and da dinner ended with 10 pcs of Deep-fried Mini Lotus Bun :)

Thanks my beloved mates allowing me to snap pictures of da Food before eating them, you guys were really patience and kind with me and I appreciate that :D Too bad that Chew (Yuen Kian) was unable to turn up as a matter of fact that he was still working very hard in Japan. Food wise, nothing much to complain actually cause it's understandable that we don't expect da Chef to perform da best on this special day. Furthermore, da set doesn't come cheap, about RM 1.5k per table okay! O_o

As for now, I am really looking forward towards this weekend as I am going to Penang to attend Ivy's big day! Just can't wait to fool da bridegroom ekekekekeke.. :p

meiyen,
On any big occasions, normally the food won't taste as good. I have actually taken a peep behind the kitchen on one of the special occasions. I could see that all the fish were soaked in a big pot/bucket. Then they were scooped up using the "laddle" before placing on the plate to be steamed. That's why, I don't expect to eat good stuff during special occasions. :P

Alamak! RM1.5k for one table? *Started counting* If 10 tables, will cost RM15k and if 50 tables, will cost RM75k. My gosh! Don't wanna marry liao. haha!

How come got 2 separate wedding one - Sunway & Penang? Anyway, the dessert sounds yummy. Must go explore a few hotels now so that you can choose the best one to have it for your wedding rite.. hehe... Enjoy ur trip in Penang.

1.5k??!!! that's very expensive judging from the items they've served. 1.5k per table at noble banquet would have scallops and abalone :p maybe throw in fatt thiew cheung as well haha but of course can't beat the other offerings hotel packaged in.
