Carl's Jr Charbroiled Burgers @ 1 Utama (Old Wing)

Oh no no, it's raining again! Honestly speaking, I don't quite like wet weather. You know, it usually takes about 15 minutes from my place to PJ and yesterday morning I couldn't believe that I actually took 1.5 hours to reach my client's place! All da cars were slowly crawling to their destination like a tortoise, trust me, da jam was horrible! Off work at 530pm, happily drove home, half way through, found out from da radio that there was an accident somewhere near TTDI and cause of that, I got stuck again for another 1.5 hours! :| By da time I reached home, I was half dead. Slept through da night like a pig and this morning woke up to find my body aching here and there and worst of all, it was raining again, heavily! Thank god that I don't need to be at my client's place today, I can really imagine how great da traffic flow would be :|

I'd been eyeing this US-founded charbroiled burger franchise for quite some time when da shop was still in renovation progress and when I found out that Carl's Jr Burger finally opened its door 2 weeks ago on da ground floor of Old Wing 1 Utama, I made no delay and gave them a try last Friday.

We stepped in, we were warmly greeted and welcomed by their Staffs. We found out that there are many kinds of Burgers to choose from and when one of their staffs trying to be nice and asked us which type of Burgers we would love to try, darling acted stupidly and asked him.....

Darling: Oooo... not bad, Bacon! So that's Chicken Bacon yeah?
Carl's Staff No.1: Oh, ermmmm..... Pork Bacon!
Me & Darling: What?!!!!! O_o O_o O_o

Another Staff over heard and saw our O_o reaction, he quickly came over and said.....

Carl's Staff No.2: Oh no, no! It's Chicken Bacon. Sorry bout that.....
Me & Darling: Lol :D :D :D :D

I thought that is a very sensitive issue? Yes? Looks like their staff aren't well trained to answer customers' questions! We just couldn't believe that a simple question like this was answered wrongly :p

We had da Combo meal, comes with Fries and.....

Free flow of Drinks ;)

Darling had Portobello Mushroom Burger (RM 24). One usual Beef Burger with sliced Portobello Mushroom, Onion, Tomato, Lettuce and Cheese.

I had da Chicken Club Sandwich (RM 23). A Sandwich with cooked Chicken Breast and Bacon, accompanied with Cheese, Tomato and Lettuce.

I thought this long awaited Burgers, not worthy at all and darling gave a thumb down for his Burger as he said, "A Burger is still a Burger!" True enough, it's way too expensive! :|

To da rest of you who wish to try this Burger-chain, he suggested, "Maybe you should try Burger King da day before you give Carl's Jr a visit and tell me what you think." ;)

LoL at the last pix. The burgers seem to be overpriced. How can they charge us RM20++ for fast food rite?

Hmm.. think they better come up with a better priced package or business will be hard to do.

For that kinda prices, I would rather dine in Chili's! ;-)
Nothing says it better than a picture of a thumbs down to finish up a review. LOL!

I wanted to try on Sat but then it was so expensive. I rather pay for Chilis burger which is about the same price and even bigger. SO in the end I bought burger king's burger. hehe...

CJ used to have a couple of outlets all around KL. Titiwangsa, Bird Park etc. I can't remember how it tasted coz it was ages ago, but I remember their buffalo wings were to die for.

Were they on the menu? Perhaps you could try and see if it's still good?

joe, oh... honestly speaking, i prefer burger king's packaging.. at least da quality of da papers they are using much better.. unlike da one from carl's, easily tear off :p

teambsg, lol...

xiulongbao, yeah.. overpriced is da word!

tummythoz, that's true... but at this moment, i believe that people will continue to jam-in despite da sky-high price of da burgers cause it's still new in 1 utama as in "new toilet"! lol...

obi-kwan, to tell da truth, i have yet to try chilli's burgers! maybe i should really give them a try one day ;) seeing da thumb down pic, you sure know bob da builder was really disappointed with da burgers yeah... lol...

kok, yeah... but this outlet is still new in 1utama so i believe that no matter how expensive it's, people still give them a try.. just for once at least and there after, no return.. just like me! :p

cutie, oh yeah! burger king rocks! ;)

nawooz, am not too sure about it though.. but i guess they just return! oh.. i don't remember seeing buffalo wings there but i know there are sides like onion rings and cheesie cakes too!! lol

Too pricey...would rather get BK or go and dine nicely in Chilli's! Looks like CJ better come up with a new marketing plan...

If things doesn't improve (like price and quality). History will surely repeat itself for Carl's Junior. (Closed down just like 10++ year back)

kinda dissapointed during my visit to this outlet. i ordered a charbroiled chicken club combo and its written that there is bacon. when it came there wasn't any bacon. made a complain, waitress was too inexperience or didn't know what to do..sigh...no 2nd time visit for me

Carl's Junior opened in Malaysia in the mid 90s.. and they served the best burgers in town.. well, in my opinion that is... nothing beats charboiled goodness from CJ, not even BK. Those days they started the free refills concept together with Grandys. Not sure how the current CJ fares though... will definitely give it a try when I get back to KL. ^_^ thanks for your review...

hi...

Was @ Carl's Jr Midvalley yesterday and really thought all this fanfare about how good Carl's Jr is ... its just marketing. ImHo , its just a normal burger , which they OVERCHARGE.

I thought it was just quite normal...

Not worth the money to go a second time....
