Maredo's Steakhouse @ Jalan Telawi 5, Bangsar

There was one night we were thinking of trying new eatery at Bangsar. We parked our car in Bangsar Village II, walked around da Telawi area and decided to make a stop at Maredo's Steakhouse since we had not been there. Located right at da corner of Jalan Telawi 5, it's not hard to spot this Steakhouse which da culinary comes all da way from da land of cowboys and I mean, Argentine cuisine :) First time trying Argentine cuisine, we were pretty much excited as questions from fiance and myself kept popping out towards each other. Da ambience of this Steakhouse is warm with background music that I don't really fancy, very Argentinian! There's one corner with electric blue lightings, more like a mini-pub that I quite like but it's really small though. From my observation, there are not many tables for non-smoker diners but it's a good thing that they cater quite a huge area for smoker diners. Privacy dining or group dining, make a request and da staff will do it right away. Da time we were there, service was great and staffs were very friendly to us, so it's a bonus point to them! :)

One thing good about this place is that when you order any Steak or Main Course, you are entitled to have one free serving at da Salad Bar. Few varieties of da greens and appetizers, you can grab as much as you want but it's limited to one plate per main order.

Since Argentine cuisines emphasize more on Beefs, darling of course would not hesitate to try da Steak here. Da moment he saw da menu, his eyes were already on da Maradona Steak. One football fan he is and "Maradona" really caught his attention. Priced at RM 56, it's a 250gm of Beef Strip Loin topped with Black Peppercorn gravy and served with Sauteed Broccoli and Fries as well. I know da picture says it all, looks really blacky! Apparently, darling wanted da Beef to be cooked rare but disappointedly turned out to be medium-well. Anyhow, he was okay with it and he find da Beef tasteful hence he didn't ask for a change. He also find da sauce very thick, very much different from other cuisines.

As for myself, I went for da Patagonia Combo. Priced at RM 49, it's a combination of Grilled Pacific Cod with roasted Cilantro Prawn and served on a bed of Sauteed Potato with fine Beans. Thumbs up for this main course, it has my favourite items, mainly Prawn and Cod Fish. Da way they get this done, absolutely lovely, very nice presentation and most of all, it tastes really good and fresh!

No dessert though as I wasn't feeling too well that night. Also, we were very full, next time yah! Okay, mission accomplished, we have finally tried Argentine cuisine and satisfied with it. Their ways of cooking is definitely different, it seems like both our steak and main course comes with a heavy based of sauce and very flavourful. I thought that only French and Italian cuisines pay more attention to its food presentation but no, Argentine cuisine too! I could feel that they did use effort and time to present da best to da diners, good! Have yet to try Argentine cuisine? Now you know where to go :)

There used to be an outlet here in my office, Plaza Mont' Kiara but now taken over by Marmalade. The steak not too bad but usually we go for the set lunch only cos it's so expensive. I love their salad counter.

haha, they're just a stone's throw to my office, and i've never eaten there. ironically, i never come to bangsar at night, and i cant possibly eat steak for lunch.

also, being the cheapskate that i am, if its just me and wife, might as well go to prime at le meridien, or sudu in hilton, 50% off, and sure good. (actually sudu's rib eye at RM56 is a steal)
