New Year's Eve Dinner @ Empress Cafe, The Curve

First of all, I would like to whole heartedly apologise for not being able to update my blog as frequent as previous time due to work commitments. I promise that I will try my very best to be on track again yah! So, how's your New Year celebration? Da long holiday is now officially over and I must say that I did truly enjoyed da last few weekends of Year 2007. On da New Year's eve, darling and I went to The Curve. No, we didn't go there to countdown but our motive was to buy Baskin Robbins Ice cream, 31% off as usual on every 31st each month. Upon reaching, I was quite shocked to find that Baskin Robbins was empty hence we decided to have our dinner first and return later. We scouted around and it was really happening there, so many people, all eateries were fully occupied if not, fully booked. We went to Marche but so unfortunately that da queue was just too long, ended up we had our new year's eve dinner at Empress Cafe.

I am quite impressed with Empress Cafe's ambience, very "English" style and I fell in love with its decorations da moment I stepped in but also quite turn off that da whole place was superbly hot, no air-cond and services were quite bad also as we were given wrong menu only to find out that their usual dishes were not available and limited selections were served.

We started our dinner with Potato Soup (RM 12). I like da texture and smell of this soup while da garlic breads were well toasted, excellent!

For mains, darling went for their Lamb Steak (RM 32). Served with some Fries and Salad, we find it quite expensive though. Da meat, part of it were tender and juicy while there were some parts which were quite burnt! Not too good....

I went for Empress Hot Dog (RM 15), more like a Sausage Sandwich. Da Bread was cold, I suspect they took it out from da fridge not long ago, very disappointed! :( Da Sausage, quite yummy but served cold too!!!!!! Really bad!!!! :(

Enough said, food was bad except for da Potato Soup, most probably because it was New Year's eve.. doubt so we shall return anytime soon. Anyone of you been to Empress Cafe?

haven't been to The Curve for months already, I'm so outdated now ;-). My new year's eve was very simple, barbecue with colleagues and switch on my TV sharp 12am to watch fireworks, ha ha!
